Description: Wendover Woods is a HUGE area of wood situated on the northern edge of the Chiltern escarpment.  The area affords spectacular views across the Aylesbury Vale. Within 325 hectares of mixed coniferous and broadleaved woodland you will find plenty to see and do. There are set trails to follow for different ability groups.  We like the "firebird" trail which takes us about one and half hours to complete and is only suitable for those on foot as the paths are muddy and narrow in places, with some hills to climb.  Our Springers like to run a long way but I have no concerns about them getting out of the woods, as the area is huge.  There is a fantastic café with a wide menu with many veggie options. There are toilets in the car park and a BBQ area.
Directions: Travelling along the B4009 from Wendover to Tring, take the right hand turn approximately 1 mile north of RAF Halton, signposted Wendover Woods and St Leonards. The main entrance to the woods is found on the right.
Local buses will take you as far as Halton and the Chiltern Line runs a regular service to Wendover from Marylebone.
