Description: |
During the best weather some of the walking paths are a little busy with children and bikes, however, the forest is huge and many of the walking areas are quiet and dogs can roam. Even though I am local, I still find myself in areas I have never seen before. Great for exploring! |

Description: |
Linear walk as it is an old railway line, but there are also many trails off to the sides - recommend you take an OS map to help. The trail is also used by cyclists and horse riders but I have never had any problems with either, most people being very friendly. There are also toilets at the car park at Whitegate station. |
| Directions: |
You can find details here. The walk runs along a disused railway line just off the A54 - it is very well signed. |

| Terrain: |
Easy - on the whole the path is easily negotiable. If there has been a lot of rain some parts can become muddy, so wheelchair access only really in the summer months. |

Large car park on site. Note that the car park is locked over night so check the signs when you get there to see when they are closed as it varies throughout the year.
